R&R Insurance Services Inc. in Waukesha, Wis., has appointed David Lancaster vice president of Employee Benefits. Lancaster has more than 25 years of insurance industry experience. Prior to R&R, he worked for Liberty Mutual Group in numerous high-profile positions including president and CEO of Indiana Insurance. He holds the Certified Employee Benefits Specialist and Chartered Life Underwriter designations.
United Fire Group Inc., headquartered in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, named Corey Ruehle Midwest region branch manager, effective July 1. He replaces Doug Penn, who is retiring.
Ruehle will oversee the company’s commercial lines business in the Midwest region, which includes Arkansas, Iowa, Missouri, North Dakota and South Dakota. He previously was the Midwest region underwriting manager. He has been in the insurance industry for 16 years and with United Fire Group since 2001.
Fremont Insurance, a Michigan-exclusive property and casualty insurance carrier with headquarters in Fremont, Mich., hired Christopher Clinton as a vice president of Commercial Lines and Product Development.
Clinton brings more than 26 years of industry experience at both the field and home office levels to his new position. Most recently, Clinton served as vice president of Marketing for Great American Insurance Group in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Fireman’s Fund appointed Donna Favata-Bosh as a senior product director for the healthcare product lines within its professional liability business. She will be based in the Chicago office. She joins Fireman’s Fund from CNA HealthPro with a diverse background in healthcare and healthcare claims most recently at CNA.
West DeMoines, Iowa-based FBL Financial Group Inc. CEO James Hohmann resigned effective June 30, the insurer announced. James Brannen, chief financial officer, has been named interim CEO. The company expects to name a new CEO by the end of next year.
OneBeacon Insurance Group Ltd. has appointed John C. Treacy as senior vice president of Finance. He is based in the company’s U.S. corporate headquarters in Minnetonka, Minn. and reports to Chief Financial Officer Paul McDonough. Treacy’s prior experience includes over 25 years of financial management, primarily within the property-casualty insurance industry, including over 15 years with The Travelers Cos. (formerly St. Paul Cos.).
Michigan-based Accident Fund Holdings Inc. appointed William G. Carney as chief underwriting officer. Carney recently joined Accident Fund Holdings’ executive team and oversees the underwriting efforts of the holding company’s four operating units — Accident Fund Insurance Co. of America, CompWest, Third Coast Underwriters and United Heartland.
Carney has 33 years of experience in the workers’ compensation insurance industry. He most recently served as vice president of underwriting, product development and management for PMA Insurance Group.
Managing general agency J.M. Wilson has added two underwriters to its Kansas City, Mo., team. Eric Shwarz is a new property/casualty underwriter and Kefentse Mandisa is a new transportation underwriter.
Shwarz and Mandisa will service accounts in Missouri, Kansas, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Mississippi and Alabama.
Shwarz will quote new and renewal accounts for a wide variety of commercial P/C risks.
Mandisa will quote and market commercial transportation accounts. Mandisa holds the Associate in General Insurance (AINS) and Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designations.
