Marsh & McLennan Cos. appointed Daniel S. Glaser to the newly created position of group president and CEO. Glaser previously had been chairman and CEO of Marsh. He will continue to report to Brian Duperreault, president and CEO of Marsh & McLennan Cos.

Peter Zaffino was named president and CEO of Marsh Inc. Zaffino previously was president and CEO of Guy Carpenter.

Alexander Moczarski was appointed president and CEO of Guy Carpenter. He had been president of the international division of Marsh Inc. Moczarski has more than 30 years of experience in the insurance industry.

Irving, Texas-based JW Wrobel & Associates LLC hired Kate Innocent as senior underwriter. She specializes in marketing, underwriting and placing small to medium surplus lines accounts for retail agencies in Texas. Innocent also will develop and manage JWW’s contract binding facilities. She has 10 years of insurance industry experience and formerly served as process supervisor at RISC Inc.

Houston, Texas-based regional insurance carrier Columbia Lloyds Insurance Co. recently named Milby D. Dunn II chairman of the board and appointed Jeffrey Mann president and CEO. Together, the two have a combined 34 years of insurance industry experience, with 13 of these in senior management roles.

Milby Dunn now leads the company started by his father M. Dow Dunn in 1985, continuing the family’s commitment to providing an insurance market to owners of low-value homes in Harris County. The company has paid nearly $100 million in claims since Hurricane Ike in 2008.

Mann joined Columbia Lloyds in 2009 as controller. Prior to joining Columbia Lloyds, he held various insurance industry positions and most recently served as controller for American Farmers and Ranchers Mutual Insurance Co., the second-largest farm insurer in Oklahoma.

Former Columbia Lloyds President Bob Sullivan remains on the board and continues to serve as vice president of marketing.

The Indpendent Insurance Agents of Texas (IIAT) named Randy Brodbeck of the Adams Insurance Agency in Johnson City, Texas, as its newest Trusted Choice Hometown Hero.

The Hometown Hero program recognizes Trusted Choice insurance agents who go “above and beyond” to help their communities.

Brodbeck has served on the Johnson City School Board since 1995 and has been board president since 1998. He is active in the Johnson City Little League, serving as coach and president of the organization. He was instrumental in building Johnson City’s first Little League baseball field, which subsequently has been renamed in his honor.

Brodbeck also has been president of North Blanco County EMS and serves on the Johnson City Planning and Zoning Committee. He announces at youth athletic events, and is a past recipient of the Johnson City Chamber of Commerce Outstanding Citizen of the Year award.

The Insurance Council of Texas (ICT) Education Foundation recently distributed academic scholarships to students at the University of Houston – Downtown, Southern Methodist University (SMU), the University of Texas at San Antonio, and the University of Texas Pan American in Edinburg.

Students receiving scholarships include: Haley King, SMU; Amanda Franks Underwood, Adrian Hopkins and Rodney Singleton at the University of Houston – Downtown; Daniel Lambert, Ryan Reed, Daniel Stratton, Di Wu and Austin Crocker at the University of Texas San Antonio; and Cassandra Garcia, Heather Martinez, Luis Centeno, Pablo Escobedo and Jessica Gonzalez at the University of Texas Pan American.
