Todd Kilkenny joined the Independent Insurance Agents of Texas (IIAT) as director of agency management resources. He will be responsible for developing, implementing and managing strategic agency management initiatives and programs to support the growth and development of member agencies across the state.
Kilkenny brings more than 20 years of industry experience from both the insurance carrier and independent agency sides of the business. He is a licensed property and casualty agent and has served active roles in local insurance associations. Most recently he was awarded the 2010 President’s Award for his service and dedication to the Independent Insurance Agents of Dallas.
Prior to joining IIAT, Kilkenny held the position of director of Marketing for U.S. Home Team and has held key management and marketing positions with AAA Texas, Kemper Insurance Companies and Zurich.
Kansas City, Mo.-based insurance broker, Lockton Companies expanded its employee benefits practice in San Antonio, Texas, with the addition of registered dietitian and television personality Heather King.
King’s experience and background in nutrition, healthcare and wellness will help Lockton’s clients build health risk management programs designed to improve employee health and reduce health care costs, the company said.
King previously served as registered dietician and Nutrition Programs manager for Spectrum Athletic Clubs. She is also the registered dietitian and nutrition expert for San Antonio’s NBC affiliate WOAI-TV’s Living Show.
Signature Select LLC, a retail insurance broker subsidiary of The IMA Financial Group Inc., expanded its personal lines insurance practice in Denver. Nate Bell joined the company as development executive, and Debbie Marmitt came on board as private client advisor.
Bell is a seasoned personal lines broker with 10 years of insurance sales, marketing and agency management experience. He was most recently a managing partner for a Portland, Ore., insurance company.
Marmitt has more than 20 years of insurance experience including service at several leading insurance agencies. She specializes in assisting high-net-worth clientele.
In addition to Denver, IMA has offices in Dallas, and Kansas City, Topeka and Wichita, Kan.
Carol Davis joined MarketScout Wholesale (MSW) as a broker, heading its New Orleans branch. Davis worked with Crump Insurance for 17 years working on both wholesale brokerage and underwriting for in-house facilities prior to joining MarketScout Wholesale.
MSW is partnered with MarketScout Internet Exchange, an electronic insurance exchange.
Texas Associates Insurors added Dave Perez as its newest insurance and risk advisor. As a student of Texas A&M University, on Sept. 11, 2001, Perez committed to serving in the U.S. Air Force and was commissioned in 2003. He served as a nuclear weapons launch officer in California and Wyoming for the next six years. Perez earned his MBA with a Finance Certificate from Colorado State University in 2009 and separated from the service as a captain in 2010. He joins Texas Associates Insurors with a drive to help businesses manage risks and protect their most valuable assets.
Austin, Texas-based NSM Insurance Group hired Jimmy Squires as business development manager for south Texas, Alabama, Arkansas, Louisiana, Missouri, Mississippi and Tennessee. Squires has more than 20 years’ of experience with carriers and managing general agencies in both senior marketing and underwriting roles primarily in Southern states.
The Dallas-based law firm, Downs Stanford PC, added two attorneys whose practices focus on insurance, subrogation and workers’ compensation. Glenn Ingram’s practice will focus on civil litigation matters with an emphasis on insurance and subrogation. Rynn Freiling’s principal areas of practice are insurance and personal injury litigation, subrogation, workers’ compensation and breach of contract litigation.
