The Hartford has appointed Lisa Morgan as senior vice president of its Middle Market commercial insurance business. Morgan most recently served as vice president of Middle Market operation. She joined The Hartford in 2001 and has held positions of increasing responsibility in the company’s property/casualty claims department before joining the Middle Market team in 2005. Previously, Morgan spent six years in private law practice.

The Hartford has also named Grace Figueredo as vice president of diversity and inclusion. Figueredo will lead diversity, inclusion and cultural awareness within the insurer and will oversee strategies that drive employee engagement and extend contemporary work practices to meet the needs of the business and employees. She joins The Hartford from United Technologies Corp., where she most recently served as director of Workforce Diversity.

Virginia-based specialty insurer Medmarc has promoted several executives as part of a corporate reorganization plan. Chief Underwriting Officer Fran Stockwell will now be responsible for underwriting policy, product development and broker relationships for the life sciences business. Stockwell has been with Medmarc for 23 years. John Ajello joins Medmarc as director of Life Sciences underwriting. He will oversee underwriting operations for the life sciences business. He has 18 years of underwriting experience. Richard Butler, director of Specialty Programs, will head Medmarc’s lawyers’ professional liability business. Butler has been with Medmarc for nine years. Karen Murphy takes over as senior vice president of Risk Services & Marketing. She has been at Medmarc for 15 years. Her marketing responsibilities will include a new Internet marketing function led by Phil Ahad, who joined Medmarc last month.

Crump Insurance Services has named Christopher Willis as senior vice president and broker. Willis, who will be based in Boston, has over 16 years of experience in the insurance industry. He joins Crump from Swett & Crawford where he was vice president-director, managing the Boston professional lines group. He was previously an underwriting officer for Chubb and Executive Risk Management Associates.

Donna Chiapperino has been elected president of The Professional Insurance Agents of New York (PIANY), one of eight new officers elected for the group. Chiapperino, serves director of marketing for Jimcor Agencies in Montvale.

Rich Savino was named president-elect. He is partner, president and chief executive officer of Warwick Resource Group. Michael Skeele was elected first vice president. He is president of Skeele Agency in DeRuyter. Alan Plafker was elected vice president. He is president and CEO of Member Brokerage Service in Briarwood.

Eugene Sandy was elected vice president. He is director of marketing for the Millennium Alliance Group in Syosset. John Parsons II was elected treasurer. He is vice president of Parsons and Associates Inc. in Syracuse. Tony Kubera was elected secretary. He is director of business development for Russell Bond & Co. Inc. in Buffalo. Kevin Ryan will serve as immediate past president. He is president and chief executive officer of The Valley Group Inc. in Kingston.

Connecticut-based Sparta Insurance has named Gerald W. Brady as vice president of marketing. Brady’s responsibilities include business acquisition and development of multi-line specialty commercial programs underwritten by expert program administrators. Prior to joining Sparta, Brady was vice president at Arthur J. Gallagher. He has also held position with Benfield Group and General Reinsurance Corp.

New Jersey-based JM Associates has named Jean-Baptist Tateossian as vice president. Tateossian previously served as vice president with American Home, a division of AIG based in New York, where he oversaw excess casualty underwriting divisions. He also held various insurance underwriting positions at Chubb. JM Associates, is a division of Hub International Northeast.
