EPIC (Edgewood Partners Insurance Center) added Tina Brink as a senior account executive in its Folsom, Calif., office, and Lori Perry as a senior account executive in its San Francisco office.
Brink brings more than 18 years of experience in the health care industry, working for a national insurance carrier as well as San Francisco Bay Area-based benefits consulting firms. She was most recently a consultant at Presidio Benefits Group in San Francisco.
A 29-year veteran of the San Francisco Bay Area insurance community, Perry has spent the past nine years focusing on the property/casualty insurance and risk management needs of waste haulers and recyclers. She will continue to specialize in those industries. Prior to joining EPIC, Perry worked for Wells Fargo Insurance Services.
The San Diego-based John Burnham division of BB&T Insurance Services of California Inc. added Dave Beech as an employee benefits consultant. He has more than 25 years of experience in health care and benefit consulting working for nationally recognized firms such as Deloitte Touche, Foster Higgins and Watson Wyatt. Prior to joining BB&T, he was affiliated with EPIC Partners.
Honolulu-based Island Insurance Co. Ltd. appointed Nova Kim Agency Partners Program manager. In this newly created position, Kim will be responsible for the company’s Agency Partners Program (APP), which includes training and educational programs for APP participants, in addition to sales and overall program management. Prior to joining Island Insurance, Kim was customer service manager at Farmers Insurance Hawaii.
ISU International of San Francisco promoted Teresa Tomsen to the newly created position of ISU national marketing director. Seven years’ experience as ISU’s commercial underwriter qualifies Tomsen to facilitate placements for ISU Network’s approximately 100 offices.
San Francisco-based Charity First Insurance Services Inc. appointed Riley Binford executive vice president. He will be responsible for managing existing programs and developing new programs for the nonprofit and social service sector. He has more than two decades of experience with various carriers and programs targeting the social services industry.
Privately owned, independent reinsurance brokerage Lockton Re expanded its presence in the United States by appointing three new executives – Larry Hunter-Blank, Joe Zuk and Scott D. Polkinghorne at its offices in New York and Kansas City.
Hunter-Blank joins Lockton Re as an executive director working from the company’s Kansas City headquarters, where he will primarily focus his efforts on Midwestern regional and specialty insurers. He comes to Lockton Re after three years at Swiss Re, and 17 years at GE Insurance Solutions and Employers Reinsurance.
Polkinghorne joins as executive director, and Zuk joins as senior account executive in Lockton Re’s New York office, where they will work closely with Lockton Re’s U.S. reinsurance executive John Daum.
Polkinghorne has 30 years of experience as an insurance/reinsurance executive having worked in the U.S., London and Australian marketplaces. Prior to joining Lockton Re, he was responsible for the establishment of JLT Re’s North American property reinsurance business.
Zuk will work to develop new business and assist in the placement of the firm’s existing reinsurance book. He joins the company from Paris Re.
Todd Richardson was promoted to regional vice president at State Auto Middle Markets Insurance’s (SAMMI) Western region, which includes Utah, Colorado, Arizona, Oklahoma and Texas. Richardson will manage the SAMMI underwriting teams based in Austin, Texas, and Peoria, Ariz. He also will be responsible for recruiting sales and underwriting middle market and large account talent. Richardson joined State Auto in 2008, previously serving as business insurance manager and as an account executive within the SAMMI business unit.
