Joseph Tracy has been named president of Travelers Inland Marine business unit. Tracy, who joined Travelers in 2006, most recently served as chief underwriting officer for the Inland Marine business unit.
Prior to joining Travelers, Tracy was the head of OneBeacon Insurance’s Inland Marine operations. He also has held positions with the Chubb Group of Insurance Cos. and Kemper Insurance Cos.
Tracy succeeds Richard Rowley, who founded Travelers Inland Marine in 1982. Rowley will continue as a senior adviser with the organization.
New York-based brokerage Marsh & McLennan Cos. named William Krivoshik chief information officer and senior vice president for the firm. In the newly created position, Krivoshik will oversee MMC’s technology strategy and architecture.
Krivoshik most recently served as the chief technology officer at Thomson Financial, where he oversaw the company’s technology and information operations globally. He has also held senior technology positions with Citigroup, Travelers and American International Group, where he was chief information officer.
Engle Martin & Associates Inc., a national insurance adjusting and claims administration firm, appointed Jay T. Campbell to serve in the newly created role of executive vice president of operations.
Since 1993, Campbell has served in a variety of senior level positions with Crawford & Co., a global provider of claims management services. Most recently he was vice president and director of operations overseeing the Field Operations and Catastrophe Services divisions.
Campbell is the fifth member of Engle Martin’s executive management team, which includes Kevin L. Engle, CEO; John J. Quinn, president and chief operating officer; W. Todd Evans, executive vice president for Business Development; and Bob Gambell, executive vice president for Claims and Administration Services and Casualty Operations.
Houston-based HCC Insurance Holdings Inc. named Susan L. Howie to head its corporate Human Resources Department as vice president of Human Resources. Howie previously worked for HCC from 1997-2005, serving as head of the company’s Human Resources Department.
Before joining HCC, she was a senior vice president at BetaWest Properties Inc. in Denver, Colo. HCC Insurance Holdings Inc. is an international specialty insurance group with offices across the United States and in Bermuda, Ireland, Spain and the United Kingdom.
The Insurance Council of Texas (ICT) awarded academic scholarships to 12 students of insurance at the University of Texas at San Antonio, Huston-Tillotson University and the University of Texas Pan American in Edinburg.
The University of Texas at San Antonio scholarship recipients were Calley Brahm, Safoora Sohaib, Gregory English, Kimberly Cox and Selvin Guevara.
Huston-Tillotson University students were Lorianna Archer and Gabriel Gibbons.
The University of Texas at Pan American scholarship recipients were Juan Chavez, Jon Obie Valdivia, Juan Perales, Annisa Olivia Chavez and Marcos Cantu.
ICT’s Education Foundation was created to administer both academic and achievement awards that are now provided to seven Texas universities. The universities include Baylor, University of North Texas, UT Austin, UT San Antonio, UT Pan American, Huston-Tillotson and Texas Southern.
Since the scholarship program began in 2002, ICT has awarded $162,500 in scholarships to 136 students studying insurance and risk management.
Bermuda-based specialty insurer Ironshore Inc. appointed Anthony Mammolite executive vice president of its U.S. Property unit. Mammolite will oversee strategy for the unit, which focuses on broker-sourced specialty commercial business.
He has more than 35 years of experience in underwriting and field marketing, including more than 20 years in property lines. Mammolite most recently served as senior vice president of Property for Lexington Insurance Co. Prior to that, he held various senior level management positions for AIG in the greater New York region.
Eqecat Inc., a subsidiary of ABSG Consulting Inc. announced William M. Keogh was appointed senior vice president, strategic initiatives. Keogh, who was previously group executive of global client development at Risk Management Solutions, will be responsible for setting and implementing corporate strategy.
Keogh began his career in 1982 as an underwriter. His underwriting experience includes property and casualty insurance and reinsurance and spans the United States, the United Kingdom, Europe, Asia, and Latin America and the Caribbean.
Michael J. Morrissey was appointed president and chief executive officer of the International Insurance Society Inc. (IIS).
Morrissey previously served as chairman and chief executive officer of Firemark Investments. He has advised insurance company management and served on several insurance company boards, as well as chairing the firm’s fund boards.
Morrissey succeeds Patrick W. Kenny, who will retire in June. Kenny has served as IIS president and CEO since 2001.
