NBIS, headquartered in Atlanta, appointed Lori Meehan senior vice president of operations. Meehan has served as secretary of NBIS, as well as general counsel to ProBuilders Specialty Insurance Co. and Southwestern Casualty Insurance Co.

Prior to joining NBIS, Meehan was with Riffner, Barber & Scott in Schaumburg, Ill., where her practice focused on corporate and transactional matters. Meehan specializes in representing insurance companies and other entities in regulatory and transactional matters.

Brian Greenwood has been named vice president of sales for the Southeast by Benefit Planers Inc. of San Antonio, Texas. Greenwood will oversee the newly opened Atlanta sales office and business development in five states.

With 28 years of experience in sales and marketing, Greenwood comes to Benefit Planners from North American Health Plans, where he served as regional director. His career began with Jefferson Pilot’s group division. He has held positions with Cairnstone, a Miami- based managing general underwriter for self-insured medical plans, and USBenefits, based in Costa Mesa, Calif., managing 14 states.

Greenwood will head the new office at 5 Concourse Parkway, Suite 3000, Atlanta.

American Safety Insurance Holdings Ltd who will be vice president, planning and treasury.

Tepe joins American Safety with more than 24 years of experience in accounting, financial reporting, financial planning and corporate development. Tepe has knowledge of insurance financial processes and controls, financial systems and financial process improvements; working with bank financing and investments. He has been involved in mergers and acquisitions.

Tepe was previously chief financial officer of GAB Robins Inc., an international insurance claims management and adjusting company. He has also worked in senior financial reporting and accounting positions with major property and casualty insurance companies, such as W. R. Berkley Corp. and USF&G Corp.

Jose A. “Tony” Martely Thomas D. Dorseywas named president-elect, and Erinn E. Collinsworth, secretary-treasurer. New board members are Phil Lyons and Tony Arias.

Alex Soto, Independent Insurance Agents and Brokers Association president-elect, presented Mike Keeby, outgoing president with the President’s Plaque.

Phil Gallagher and Raymond W. Butler III were also honored by IIADC. Gallagher, an IIADC past president, was presented the association’s “Lifetime Achievement Award;” and Butler, also an IIADC past president, received the first “Passion Award” for his revolutionary thinking.

Gallagher was honored numerous accomplishments and unwavering commitment to the association. He was cited for being prominent and well-respected in the community; for his intense commitment to leadership in the industry; and his lifetime of integrity and distinction as a leader.

Butler received the Passion Award for his dedication to the cause and purpose of what IIADC stands for; for leadership characteristics that benefits all and is not self-serving; visionary thinking that leads the way to the association’s future success; enthusiasm that is contagious; and compassion about the needs of the membership, including associate members.

Dallas-based Colemont Corp. announced David Stevoffhas been named chief operating officer of Colemont Brokerage Group, its U.S. subsidiary. In this newly created position, Stevoff will have responsibility for the overall operations and productivity of Colemont’s U.S. offices, for relationships with agents and markets, and for account service. Stevoff joined Colemont’s Chicago office as a new broker in August 1994 and first served as its executive vice president before being named office president in January 2003.

Frank Kinnett will be senior advisor. Both have been elected Integro managing principals.

At the same time the firm announced the appointment of Keith Bell, David Finnis and James Martin as managing principals in Atlanta.

Kinnett has been active in the business, insurance and investment communities in the Southeast for more than 30 years. He most recently served as managing director of Marsh.

Kinnett also served as chairman and CEO of The London Agency Inc.; president and CEO of Sedgwick of Georgia; and founder of Kinnett and Boyd Inc., a firm specializing in mergers and acquisitions of insurance companies and brokerage firms.

Healey is former chairman and CEO with Sedgwick North America. He also served on Sedgwick Ltd. in London’s executive committee and board of directors. Healey has held executive level positions with Marsh, Fred S. James and Parker and Co. of Georgia.

Bell was executive vice president Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. of Georgia prior to joining Integro. His 25-year career includes serving as executive vice president with Aon Risk Services of Georgia and Minet Inc. He specializes in placement of large property and casualty coverages.

Finnis joins Integro after serving as an Aon director in Atlanta’s National Property Syndication. He has as a global property broker holding positions with major brokerage firms, including Marsh. He is an expert in placing insurance for global property, healthcare, real estate and retail industry accounts.

Martin most recently served as president of Arthur J. Gallagher in Atlanta. He has over 20 years of sales, marketing and service experience in complex property and casualty programs. Martin has also held senior positions with Aon Risk Services of Georgia Inc., Frank B. Hall of Ohio Inc., and Marsh.
