Dallas-based Colemont Corporation named David Stevoff as chief operating officer of Colemont Brokerage Group, its U.S.
subsidiary.

In this newly created position, Stevoff will have responsibility for the overall operations and productivity of Colemont’s U.S. offices, for the continued development of meaningful relationships with agents and markets, and for preserving Colemont’s commitment to excellence by delivering results to customers and providing superior service and follow-on support to accounts.

Stevoff joined Colemont’s Chicago office as a new broker in August 1994 and first served as its executive vice president before being named office president in January 2003.

He will continue to be an active broker and live and work in Chicago.

In addition, Colemont Insurance Brokers announced it added Angela Petersen as Financial Services associate legal counsel. In this role, Petersen is responsible for analyzing coverage issues, researching and developing resources in support of the Financial Services brokers, and assisting with claims issues that arise on Financial Services accounts.

Prior to joining Colemont, Petersen worked as an associate attorney at Dodge, Anderson, Jones, Bezney & Gillman P.C. and as a legislative correspondent for Congressman Dan Burton, as well as an Iowa county manager for the Bush/Cheney 2000 campaign.

USNow, which provides managed limited benefit healthcare plans and is based in Dallas, announced it named Stephen Douglas as chief operating officer.

In this capacity, his new responsibilities will include oversight of Sales Operations, Customer Service and Account Management. Additional duties will also include the development and implementation of growth strategies related to operational efficiencies and sales channel development.

Prior to assuming the role of chief operating officer, Douglas served as vice president of Sales and Operations for USNow.

Shreveport, La.-based Specialty Risk Associates Inc. announced that Kelli Mitchell and Carolyn Gray have joined the firm as commercial line underwriters.

Mitchell will be working at the new headquarters building on Fern Avenue in the Shreveport home office. Mitchell joins Specialty Risk Associates from another local general agency where she worked first as an assistant and then as an underwriter for a total of twelve years. Before that she worked at a general agency in the Nashville, Tenn., area as a general liability and property underwriter for two years.

Gray will be working at the Shreveport home office. Gray comes from another general agency where she managed its Bossier City office. Prior to that she was in marketing and underwriting, and has managed general agencies in Jackson, Miss., and Charlotte, N.C. She has 30 years’ experience in the insurance business.

USI Holdings Corporation appointed Daniel P. Sloan as senior vice president and managing director – USI Southwest, Houston, Risk Management Division.

Sloan joins USI with over 18 years of risk management and related industry experience. Most recently, he was a founding member of Jardine Lloyd Thompson LLC, USA retail brokerage operations, where he served as executive vice president responsible for business development and a member of its executive management team. Prior to that, he was an executive vice president of Aon Risk Services and an executive member of its Natural Resources Global Practices Group. Sloan also managed the direct business unit of Aon Capital Markets Group, which successfully placed several non-traditional programs for large commercial accounts.

Sloan is a recognized industry leader for the product development of non-traditional insurance products and is well known as a speaker on the marine, energy and alternative risk insurance markets. He has also authored various trade publications including The Marine Insurance Handbook – A Reference Guide.

New Orleans-based Pan-American Life has appointed Charles Wilder as senior vice president for Product Management and Distribution Finance. Prior to joining the company full-time, Wilder had served as a consultant to PAL since April of 2005, working to improve the efficiency and profitability of insurance distribution.

Before forming his own consulting practice, Wilder served as chief operating officer of AXA Distributors, where he was responsible for operations and financial management for the distribution of life insurance, annuities and proprietary mutual funds through a diverse network of agents and brokers.

Mike Mullens has joined Texas-based London American Risk Specialists Inc. as departmental manager of the company’s social service facility team.

With 18 years of experience in the industry, Mullens most recently served as program underwriter for Black/White & Associates’ social service program.

Cunningham Lindsey U.S., headquartered in Dallas, has hired Darryl Davis as executive general adjuster, adding to its core of general adjusters across the country. Davis has over 20 years’ experience handling large commercial losses.

Amy Staton, account manager with LegacyTexas Insurance Services of Plano, Texas, has earned the Accredited Customer Service Representative designation from the Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of America.

To earn the designation, Staton attended a minimum of eight days of intensive insurance training and passed four comprehensive exams.

Staton also was recently promoted from assistant account manager to account manager.
