FLORIDA EXTENDS EMERGENCY RULE:
In an emergency meeting in Tallahassee, Gov. Jeb Bush and members of Florida’s Cabinet extended to March 31 an emergency rule prohibiting insurance companies from canceling or non-renewing policies of storm victims whose homes have yet to be repaired. Florida Chief Financial Officer Tom Gallagher, as a member of the Cabinet, urged adoption of the rule and pushed for it to be made permanent in Florida.
