DEC. 6 DEADLINE TO APPLY FOR S.C. ASSISTANCE:
Residents and business owners in 28 disaster-declared South Carolina counties who sustained damage from multiple storms from Sept. 6 to Oct. 11, 2004, have until Dec. 6 to apply for disaster recovery assistance. Loan applications to the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) for disaster-related losses to real and personal property must also be submitted by that date. “We want people to understand that this is merely a registration deadline,” said Michael Bolch, federal coordinating officer. To date, 4,772 individuals have applied for disaster assistance. More than $2,785,400 in federal and state grants has been approved for individuals impacted by the disaster in addition to more than $16,900 in low-interest SBA disaster loans.
