DENN WINS DELAWARE POST:
Democrat Matthew P. Denn, former legal counsel to Gov. Ruth Ann Minner, caught 53 percent of the vote to win the insurance commissioner’s race over Rep. David Ennis, (R-Wilmington), who garnered 47 percent. Denn served as Minner’s counsel from 2001 to 2003. He worked at the Wilmington law firm of Young, Conaway, Stargatt & Taylor firm in the six years before he joined Minner’s staff. Denn campaigned as an advocate for insurance consumers, vowing to curb auto insurance and health insurance costs. He opposes permitting insurers the use of credit scoring in pricing auto coverage. Denn will replace Republican Donna Lee Williams, who announced last year that she would not seek re-election.
