USAA Plan Calls for Layoffs
San Antonio-based insurance and financial services company, USAA, is continuing its process of restructuring with the layoffs of some 648 employees, according to the San Antonio Express-News. Although the company has not publicly announced the layoffs, the Express-News indicated that USAA informed the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) that it would cut the positions. The reductions, which affect accounting, information technology, marketing, banking, human resources, and top-level property and casualty executives, are expected to occur later this month. Best Wire reported USAA plans to consolidate two of its 10 regional locations and to restructure its print and mail operations. In July the company announced the restructuring process would involve layoffs.
