CROP RIP-OFF’
A North Texas independent crop adjuster has pleaded guilty to one charge of presenting false claims to the U.S. Department of Agriculture Crop Insurance Corp. The fraud charges stem from a West Texas crop insurance claim paid by Fireman’s Fund AgriBusiness, which, at the time, had contracted for the adjuster’s services. The Fireman’s Fund has begun a full investigation into the matter to determine exact specifics regarding the validity and amount of the claim as well as the identity of any other parties who might have been involved.
