INDUSTRY VETERAN PASSES AWAY
Vic Slevin passed away on July 8, 2000. Born in Iowa in 1920, Slevin joined the Arson Department in the National Board of Fire Underwriters’ (NBFU) San Francisco office in 1950. After a stint with the NFBU Adjustments Dept. in New York, he went back to San Francisco as manager of the Pacific Department in 1960. NBFU merged with the American Insurance Association in 1967, and two decades later, Slevin retired as vice president for Government Affairs. Slevin was the 1967 recipient of the P.S.W. Ramsden Memorial Award, given by the Independent Insurance Agents Association of California, in recognition of his service to the California insurance industry. A funeral Mass was held on July 12 in Half Moon Bay.
