Miscellaneous Medical MalpracticeNuts & Bolts: NAS Insurance Services’ miscellaneous medical malpractice insurance program has several new features, including new deductibles that can be lower than $2,500. The coverage can be underwritten with greater rate flexibility. It is also available in a combined program with general liability and professional liability. Special features include incident reporting, full prior acts, sexual abuse/molestation coverage available by endorsement, plus defense in addition to the limits, up to half of the per claim limit (by endorsement).

EPLI CoverageNuts & Bolts: Rockwood Programs, a provider of employment practices liability insurance (EPLI) coverage, has added two new markets to serve agents in California. The company has an exclusive distribution arrangement with Genesis Insurance Co. to offer EPLI coverage on an admitted basis. Rockwood offers a uniquely priced EPLI product, Rockwood Guardian, for companies with 15 or fewer employees. The insured can select between defense and indemnity, or defense only coverage. Certain restrictions apply. Risk management services are also provided as part of the insurance package. There is a range of liability limit and retention options, as well as a tool kit of risk management aids.
Dollars: Minimum premiums for the EPLI coverage start at $1,700. Coverage for the defense only EPLI program for companies with 15 or fewer employees is as low as $600. Liability limit options of $50,000 and $100,000 are available. All polices are issued with a $5,000 retention.
Carrier: Genesis Insurance Co., a member company of Berkshire Hathaway Insurance Group, rated “A++” by A.M. Best. The defense-only program is underwritten by Lloyds of London.
