In its “2007 comScore Online Automobile Insurance Report,” comScore also noted that the total number of auto insurance quotes submitted online increased 15 percent. According to the company, price-conscious consumers consider the Internet critical to their research. They submitted more than 70 million auto insurance online rate quotes from 2004 to 2006. Louisiana Workers’ Compensation Corporation (LWCC) will pay a $23.2 million dividend to qualifying policyholders in late April, according to the company. LWCC’s board of directors declared the dividend for the calendar year 2006, and the Louisiana Department of Insurance approved it on April 4, 2007. This is believed to be the largest single dividend ever paid in Louisiana by a workers’ compensation insurer. LWCC returned $19.6 million to policyholders last year.
