It Pays to Be Honest

November 13, 2000

The Department of Consumer and Business Services (DCBS) revoked the insurance agent license of a Gresham man, Allan E. Richard, for violating the Oregon Insurance Code.

An investigation by the DCBS Insurance Division found that Richard backdated an insurance application to cover a loss. As a result of his dishonesty, Millers Casualty Insurance Co. paid a total of $104,280.15 in claims for an auto accident that occurred before insurance coverage was in effect. Richard has been licensed as an Oregon resident insurance agent since 1968.
