Working Double Time
Sharyls Lamarsh of Carson City, Nev., was charged with one felony count of insurance fraud.
According to CDI fraud investigators, the 57-year-old woman filed a workers’ comp claim with her employer and insurance carrier. During a medical exam, Lamarsh told a medical provider that she was employed full-time with another employer while receiving workers’ comp benefits, but during the claim process, she failed to disclose the second employment information to her insurance carrier.
The investigation revealed that Lamarsh knowingly concealed employment and earnings information from her carrier.
As a result of the fraudulent claim, The Hartford Insurance Company paid out $3,869 in Temporary Total Disability and Vocational Rehabilitation Benefits, as well as an additional $25,000 settlement.
