Sibling Squabble
Robin Jackson of Lakewood was sentenced to three years in state prison on insurance fraud and conspiracy charges. The 38-year-old man also received two one-year enhancements to his sentence because of prior criminal convictions. According to CDI fraud investigators, Jackson and his sister filed property damage and bodily injury claims with National American Insurance Company following an alleged car accident. Jackson claimed that he witnessed the accident and that his sister had been treated at a local hospital after the collision, but later confessed that his sister had not been involved in the accident at all. Jackson, pleading not guilty to the charges, tried to claim that the scheme was his sisterÕs idea. His sister later testified against him at the trial, and the jury found Jackson guilty.
