$1.5M Recovered for Arkansas Insurance Consumers in First Half of 2016
Arkansas Insurance Commissioner Allen Kerr says the Consumer Services Division (CSD) of the Arkansas Insurance Department recovered $1,580,421 for Arkansas insurance customers in the first six months of 2016. By comparison, $1,443,296 was recovered in the first half of 2015.
The monetary recoveries by CSD are in excess of the amounts initially offered to consumers by insurance companies.
So far in 2016, the Consumer Services Division received 1,242 complaints and closed 1,142 cases.
CSD assists insurance consumers with complaints and inquiries regarding insurance companies, producers and adjusters. The division investigates all complaints, working with the insurance company and the consumer to determine the appropriate course of action.
