Connecticut Launches Online Program for Adjuster Registration

July 7, 2014

The Connecticut Insurance Department announced on June 17 the launch of an online program that would make it easier for carriers to register their emergency adjusters with the state when a damaging storm occurs.

The department said the program provides for real-time registration when companies need to bring in out-of-state adjusters to meet the needs of their customers in Connecticut.

Carriers can register a catastrophe adjuster who has either a license in another state or a minimum of two years adjusting experience. Once registered, the emergency adjusters are authorized to work in Connecticut for 120 days, a term that can be extended if warranted.

The department said it will activate the catastrophe registration program for specific storms and other catastrophic events.
