Community Service a Big Part of Texas Agents’ Annual Conference
The young agent members of Texas’ largest independent agents association will once again kick off the group’s annual conference with a community service project.
This year, the young agents of the Independent Insurance Agents of Texas will host a work day on June 4 at St. Peter-St. Joseph Children’s Home in San Antonio. St. PJ’s Children’s Home serves the needs of children and families by providing a safe, nurturing community to heal body, mind and spirit, shape successful adults, and break the cycle of abuse.
IIAT’s 117th Annual Conference & Trade Show then gets into full swing in San Antonio at the Grand Hyatt River Walk on Thursday, June 5 with two full days of informative sessions. Sessions include but are not limited to:
- Galvanizing Your Agency With Word of Mouth Marketing
- Selling vs. Hoping to Get Bought: Improving Sales Results
- Behind the Curtain: Certificate Verification Companies
- 6 Tools to Increase Your Close Ratio
- Avoiding the ACA: IIAT’s New Group Health Insurance Solution
Trade Show, Awards, Entertainment
The conference also features the biggest insurance trade show in the Southwest. More than 175 companies offering markets, automation systems, restoration services, premium finance, life and health, unique software and more will be on hand at the trade show in the Grand Hyatt.
The trade show opens on Thursday with a welcome party for attendees and again on Friday with breakfast in the trade show. Prizes will be drawn throughout the show.
Conference entertainment and networking events include a welcome party and breakfast in the trade show, a prize-filled casino party and the annual Awards Luncheon where the Drex Foreman Award will be presented along with the Andre Juneau Young Agent of the Year Award, and the ACSR of the Year Award. For the first time ever, IIAT will present the Young Associate of the Year Award to a young professional who has demonstrated exceptional service to the industry, professional trade association(s) and community.
IIAT is also hosting a silent auction to benefit IMPACT, the political action committee of Texas independent insurance agents.
The conference ends with a bang Friday night when country music superstar Mark Chesnutt takes the stage for a night of music and dancing.
Affiliated with the Independent Insurance Agents and Brokers of America (Big “I”), the IIAT represents roughly 1,700 agencies and more than 16,000 agents, and is nation’s largest state association of Trusted Choice agencies.
