Florida Names 7 Workers’ Comp Judges

Florida Governor Rick Scott has reappointed seven judges on the state’s court that handles workers’ compensation claims.

Judge W. James Condry II, 54, of Orlando, has been a judge of Compensation Claims for the Orlando region since 2001. Previously, he practiced with Broussard and Condry from 1992 to 2000.

Judge Charles M. Hill III, 66, of Miami Springs, has been a judge for the Miami region since 2004. Prior to that, he practiced law with Medley Law Center from 1996 to 2004.

Judge Daniel A. Lewis, 55, of Davie, has been on the court for the Fort Lauderdale region since 1988. He practiced with David A. Danielson from 1987 to 1988.

Judge Ellen H. Lorenzen, 61, of Tampa, has been a compensation court judge for the Tampa region since 2004. Previously, she was a sole practitioner from 1998 to 2004. She has also practiced with Travelers Insurance Co. and Continental Insurance Co.

Judge Robert D. McAliley, 69, of Jupiter, has been a judge for the Port St. Lucie region since 1997. Before that, he practiced with Bradfield and McAlily from 1987 to 1997 and before that with Florida Gas Transmission Co.

Judge Shelley H. Punancy, 63, of Boca Raton, has been on the court for the West Palm Beach region since 2000. Prior to that, she practiced with Conroy, Simberg and Ganon from 1996 to 2000.

Judge Sylvia Medina-Shore, 46, of Miami, has been a judge for the Miami region since 2000. Formerly she practiced with Conroy, Simberg, Ganon, Krevans and Abel from 1996 to 2000; with Almeyda and Hill from 1992 to 1996; and was in-house counsel at the Florida Department of Insurance in the Insolvency Division from 1990 to 1991.
