Alabama Names Tornado Recovery Panel
Alabama Gov. Robert Bentley has chosen the president and CEO of Protective Life Corp., Johnny Johns, and the publisher of The Birmingham News, Pam Siddall, to lead his Tornado Recovery Action Council. Retired aerospace executive Ron Gray will serve as executive director.
The council will hold forums in communities affected by the April tornadoes and issue recommendations by mid-January.
Other members are: Suzanne Durham, YWCA of Central Alabama; Dallas Fanning, retired director of urban development; Grayson Hall, Regions Financial Corp.; David Hannah, a business owner from Crossville; Evelyn Mauldin, Bank Independent; Dr. Max Michael, dean of the School of Public Health at the University of Alabama; Dr. Keith Morrow, a physician in Hackleburg; and Brenda Parker, principal of Alberta Elementary School in Tuscaloosa.
Also, Malcolm Portera, chancellor of the University of Alabama system; Cathy Randall, Pettus Randall Holdings; Isabel Rubio, Hispanic Interest Coalition of Alabama; Guice Slawson, Southeast Wood Treating; Zeke Smith, Alabama Power Co.; Finis St. John IV, attorney from Cullman; Rex Vaughn of Vaughn Farms; W. Michael Warren, of Children’s Health System; and Randall Woodfin, assistant city attorney in Pratt City.
