Miller & Miller, Keystone
Keystone Insurers Group’s newest Ohio partner, Miller & Miller Inc., of Dover, has become the group’s 23rd agency in Ohio and one of 212 independent agencies in six states that comprise and own Keystone.
Established in 1946, Miller & Miller is currently owned by Bill McIlvaine. McIlvaine sits on the board of trustees of the Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers (IIAB) in Ohio.
Founded in 1983 and headquartered in Northumberland, Pa., Keystone is owned by its employees and franchise partners in Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Virginia, Indiana, Ohio and Kentucky. Each partner is an independent agency.
With property/casualty premiums exceeding $1 billion, KIG is ranked fifth on Insurance Journal’s 2010 list of Top 100 Privately Held Property/Casualty Agencies.
Ritchie Insurance, Keystone
Muncie, Ind.-based Ritchie Insurance Agency has joined Keystone Insurers Group, bringing Keystone’s franchise total in Indiana to 26 agencies.
Ritchie Insurance, formed in 1937, is a full-service agency owned by Casey Ritchie and William Ritchie.
Casey Ritchie, vice president of Ritchie Insurance, said the firm is “looking forward to working with Keystone in growing our agency and expanding our horizons.”
Neal Williams, Keystone’s Indiana vice president, called the franchise a “great addition” to its network of agencies in the state.
Oswald Companies
Ohio’s oldest independent and largest employee-owned risk management and insurance brokerage firm has opened an office in Akron. Oswald Companies serves more than 50 clients collectively in Akron and Canton.
Oswald’s newest Ohio location will be led by Paul Catania, a resident of Hudson, who most recently led middle market group benefits sales and service for the Cleveland-based brokerage for the past four years. His insurance career spans nearly two decades.
In addition to Akron and Cleveland, Oswald also serves communities and clients from Ohio offices in Columbus and Middleburg Heights, as well as from offices in Florida, Kentucky, Michigan and Minnesota.
Westfield Insurance
Ohio-based Westfield Insurance has expan-ded its commercial operations in Maryland, with new accounts being serviced from its Pennsylvania office. The firm’s existing surety accounts in Maryland will continue to be serviced out of the Richmond, Va., office. Westfield recently appointed 13 independent agencies to facilitate the expansion.
