Allstate Targets Uninsured in Texas

A recent test of the Texas Auto Insurance Verification Program (TexasSure) found that 25.5 percent of the vehicles stopped in the test area — Travis County and parts of nearby Hays and Williamson Counties — are uninsured. It is estimated that in parts of the Rio Grande Valley of Texas the percentage of uninsured drivers may be as high as 50 percent.

With that in mind, Allstate launched Allstate Blue in Texas, a product aimed at uninsured drivers. Allstate said it targets new drivers, people who haven’t had car insurance before and for drivers who’ve experienced an accident or two.

The company also said Allstate Blue is a price conscious product with a loyalty bonus: If Allstate Blue customers maintain their policy through the end of each policy period, they qualify for an 8 percent premium discount on all major coverages for their next policy renewal.
