Picking up Katrina Claims Where Scruggs Left Off
Richard Scruggs, facing federal charges, has now removed himself from the law consortium, Scruggs Katrina Group, which he formed in 2005 to represent claimants after Hurricane Katrina.
But other lawyers have formed The Katrina Litigation Group to proceed where the Scruggs Katrina Group left off.
This group, comprised of the Barrett Law Office P.A., Nutt & McAlister PLLC and Lovelace Law Firm, said it will invite new partners as needed. The firm of Hesse and Butterworth PLLC of Bay St. Louis, Miss., has also joined the team.
“Our goal is to keep up the momentum in key program areas such as the RICO suit and individual cases,” said KLG lead attorney Don Barrett.
