Caddyshack Charity Golf Tournament Raises $338,000
Tom Van Berkel, president and CEO of The Main Street America Group, recently met Academy Award-nominated actor Bill Murray at the Murray Brothers Caddyshack Charity Golf Tournament at the World Golf Village, St. Augustine, Fla.
The sixth annual event, sponsored by Main Street America, raised a record $338,000 for Jacksonville, Fla.-based St. Vincent’s Foundation Mobile Outreach Ministry and Brave Kids.
The event featured a wide array of well-known celebrities who participated in the 2006 tournament. They included: Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Jack Del Rio; former Super Bowl MVP Richard Dent; New York Giants defensive end and FOX Sports Net personality Michael Strahan; and actress Cindy Morgan, who played Lacy Underall in the Caddyshack movie.
The highlight of the golf tournament was a hole-in-one scored by Chip Greene of Greene-Hazel Insurance of Jacksonville, Fla. Greene won a new GMC Envoy for his stellar shot.
