The Alabama Independent Insurance Agents Inc. has scheduled its June 14-16 Young Agents Conference to overlap with its June 16-18, 109th Annual Convention at the Village at Baytowne Wharf Resort in Sandestin, Fla.

“This means young agents will have an opportunity to experience the Friday morning trade show and pick up some good market ideas and contacts,” Victor D. McCarley, AIIA executive vice president told Insurance Journal.

Two “Ask the Expert” continuing education sessions, “Commercial Lines Coverage Issues,” and “Personal Lines Coverage Issues,” will be taught June 15 by Bill Wilson, Independent Insurance Agents and Brokers of America Virtual University director.

The June 18 general session will be inaugurated by Bill Stiglitz, IIABA president elect. Alabama Insurance Commissioner Walter Bell; Dennis Rowe, Penn National Insurance president and CEO; and Bill Hertz, Amazing Corporate Magician are scheduled to speak during the morning’s activities.

An interactive case study “Ethics: Counting the Cost,” will be presented in the afternoon by Infinity Insurance Co. An awards banquet, honoring AIIA members for their participation in association projects, will be held on Saturday night, followed by an evening with George Lindsey.

AIIA welcomes families to attend, the conference dates do not conflict with the school year, so family events planned as part of the conference include kid’s fun fests, parent’s nights out, family lunches and pool parties.
