Pay-drive

“Esurance is the latest California company to offer consumers a simple and innovative insurance option that allows motorists who drive fewer miles to save money by only being charged for the insurance they need and use.”

–California Insurance Commissioner Dave Jones approved a personal auto filing by Esurance that will allow its policyholders to voluntarily participate in a pay-drive verified mileage auto program.

Prop. 33 Vitriol

“They are spitting in the eyes of foreign service officers and other heroes.”

–Jamie Court, a spokesman for Consumer Watchdog, referring to ads for Proposition 33, an auto insurance persistency initiative, focusing on the military that ran around the time of the tragedy in Libya where four Americans were killed an attack on a U.S. Consulate in Benghazi.

Prop. 33 Flabbergasted

Defaming Pink Slime

–Jeffrey Schneider, senior vice president of ABC News, talking about a $1.2 billion defamation lawsuit against ABC by a South Dakota meat processor that accused it of misleading viewers into believing that a product that critics have dubbed “pink slime” was unsafe.
