No Truth to the Matter
“This statement could not be further from the truth.”
—Arkansas Insurance Commissioner Jay Bradford took issue with a company identifying itself as a nationwide provider of innovative and affordable health insurance solutions and suspended the non-resident business entity producer’s license of Cinergy Health Inc. Arkansas regulators say Cinergy Health, headquartered in Florida, has produced and marketed television advertisements for limited health insurance plans underwritten by American and Medical Life Insurance Company (AMLI). According to a Florida complaint, however, AMLI has had no association with Cinergy Health Inc. since August 2009 when it put Cinergy on notice to immediately cease selling any AMLI products and to terminate any advertising related to AMLI. The advertisements produced and marketed by Cinergy are alleged to contain false and misleading information concerning the health coverage to be provided. The Arkansas Insurance Department scheduled a hearing on the matter for March 11.
