Indiana’s McGowan Group named ‘2006 Agency of the Year’
McGowan Insurance Group Inc. of Indianapolis received the Independent Insurance Agents of Indiana’s (IIAI) “Agency of The Year Award” at an awards ceremony in November at their Annual Convention.
The Agency of the Year Award criteria is detailed and intense, according to the IIAI’s statement. Agencies must show exemplary performance in the areas of agency production, marketing plan, perpetuation plan, management marketing tools, automation and industry involvement. The award is presented in recognition of an outstanding example of an independent insurance agency. This year’s recipient demonstrated achievement in all of these areas and more receiving the highest marks in the areas of marketing plan, perpetuation plan, agency automation system and industry involvement.
According to the release, two generations of the McGowan family business as well as other agency personnel have received IIAI Achievement Awards including the Harry P. Cooper Public Image Award, Agent of the Year Award, Distinguished Customer Service Representative and Young Agent of the Year Award. McGowan Group has a history of being actively involved in the CPCU Society, served on Agent Advisory Councils for several insurance companies, and served on numerous IIAI committees and on Board of Directors, the release said.
The Independent Insurance Agents of Indiana is a trade association representing over 800 independent insurance agencies in the state of Indiana. The association was formed so insurance agents and insurance consumers have a unified voice in government and can share common goals andinformation.
