GNW-Evergreen of Los Angeles

Completes Phase 2 of Merger

Los Angeles-based GNW-Evergreen Insurance Services LLC announced completion of phase 2 of its merger.

The newly completed 20,000-square-foot state-of-the-art insurance facility in Encino, Calif., will allow GNW-Evergreen Insurance Services the physical space needed to manage a full range of commercial and personal insurance with improved efficiency. The 10 year leased facility is located at The Almar Building, 16030 Ventura Boulevard.

The GNW-Evergreen staff consists of more than 70 insurance professionals and is a provider of comprehensive insurance solutions for businesses and individuals throughout the greater Los Angeles area, including Orange, Riverside and Ventura counties.

GNW-Evergreen is a union of two long-established Los Angeles-based insurance brokerages. The eight principals of the newly combined limited liability company include Bill Switzky, David Albaum and Paul Meshekow from Evergreen Insurance Services Inc., as well as Chuck Gelfand, Jeff Newman, Karen Oxman, Mike Newman and Rob DiPaolo from GNW Insurance Services. Those seasoned principals possess more than 250 years of combined aggregate insurance experience in the Southern California insurance marketplace; this expertise will contribute significantly to GNW-Evergreen’s reputation as one of Southern California’s premier insurance agencies.

“The new total is far greater than the sum of the parts,” said principal David Albaum. “The completion of our newly combined office facility is the last step in the merger of two fine agencies with complementary synergy. We feel we now have the platform on which we can continue on a sustained basis to expand our portfolio of products and services for the benefit of our clients.”

The entertainment industry is but one of the many industries GNW-Evergreen serves, providing crucial insurance coverage for location and studio shoots for film and television productions as well as major events like the Emmy Awards. The agency was also called upon to handle various insurance aspects of both the Democratic and Republican National Conventions.

“This is an exciting time for our organization,” said company principal Chuck Gelfand. “The opportunities and service our new facility affords our clients is unparalleled in our history.”

“Because society is so complex, we all realize that more can go wrong; this creates a real need for ever increasing sophistication in one’s insurance planning,” Albaum said. “The industry keeps creating insurance products for exposures that were not envisioned 10 years ago, such as Internet liability and workplace violence coverage. It is important for our clients to be made aware of these concepts.”

The new office facility includes a state-of-the-art conference training center that will be available for insurance industry needs. For more information about the company, call the GNW-Evergreen office at (818) 257-7400.
