Kentucky Limits Cancellations
Kentucky Gov. Steve Beshear has signed an executive order prohibiting insurance companies from canceling policies or changing rates in counties hit by deadly tornadoes.
Beshear’s staffers said it was the first time such an order had been executed in Kentucky.
The second-term Democrat said the executive order also requires insurance companies to allow more time for people in storm-ravaged communities to pay their premiums for health, life and property insurance.
Under the order, cancellations and rate increases will have to wait until at least April 15.
