Our community has been able to bring back a Military Appreciation Day in our home office city of DeRidder, Louisiana for the families of the 519 Military Policy Brigade stationed at Fork Polk, Louisiana.
Companies and organizations gathered to provide games, activities and a softball tournament and food for close to 800 people. It was all free to the soldiers. One officer who had been to 15 installations during his time in the service said he has never seen a community do this for soldiers.
AMERISAFE also did a gift back drawing for one lucky soldier. They took home a soft sided cooler, blue tooth speaker, emergency flashlight, cups etc.
